MACHADO
Former Principal Dancer with Ballet de Camagüey, Cuba, and Ballet de Monterrey, Mexico. His career has been acclaimed by international critics in many international dance festivals around de world. He received the "Best Partner" Award and the Gold Medal in the Trujillo International Ballet Competition in 1991. He was invited by the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia during his participation in the Festival of the Young Creator. In 1993 he joined Ballet de Monterrey under Ann Marie DeAngelo's artistic guidance where he worked with many international stars like Fernando Bujones, Kevin Mckenzie, Melissa Hyden, and Nellie Happei. In 1995 he was invited to join Joffrey Ballet in Chicago Company where he danced for a year. In 1996 he founded the Ballet Program in the Faculty of Arts of UANL hand by hand with Fernando Alonso and his wife Christine Ferrandó. He has as been Director of the ballet program in one of the most important dance schools in Mexico (ESMDM) for over 14 years. During this time the school has been recognizing and awarded many times by the quality of its dancers, especially its male dancers. Mr Machado has been invited to teach in many Dance Festivals around the world as well as many other ballet companies such as Ballet de Monterrey, Cuban National Ballet School, Sarasota Cuban Ballet, and Quenedit Dance Theatre. He’s been rehearsal director in charge of many ballets from the traditional classical repertoire and has also choreographed many of his own choreographies.
